What is a fanlisting?
"A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans." - The Fanlisting.org
Who is The Doctor?
The Doctor (or The Emergency Medical Hologram) is a character from the television series, Star Trek Voyager. This character was played by Robert Picardo. I'm searching on the Web to found a description about the character and I think that the descriptiom from the Official Robert Picardo Web Site is the best. Here the text:
"Star Trek: Voyager's Holographic Doctor, the Emergency Medical Holographic Program, was first activated on stardate 48308, during the premiere episode, "Caretaker". The EMH program was designed on Jupiter Station by Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, a holoengineer, who used himself as the physical and psychological pattern for the program.
The Holographic Doctor has variously been described as "cranky," "irascible", "arrogant", "condescending"... and "vulnerable". He's programmed with the medical knowledge of forty-seven of Starfleet's finest physicians and the collected medical information of three thousand cultures, and yet the lowliest crewmember aboard the starship Voyager can turn him off with the simple command, "Computer, end program!" As a result, the Doctor suffers from paranoia.
The program's first statement upon activation is usually "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." The automatic command was altered to allow his own creativity, but the Doctor preferred the known opening to creating his own more clever and personable lines. Initiation is automatic upon red alert status; the program is usually set for high magnetic cohesion, but it can be lessened to a mere image. For security's sake in a crisis it carries its own power grid separate from the nominal ship's Holodeck system. His wide array of programming has allowed him to keep Neelix alive with hologrpoahic lungs, save the Vidiian hematologist Danara Pel via a temporary holographic body, and even to alter DNA so as to remerge Torres' human and Klingon halves, reform Paris and Janeway from their retro-evolution as amphibians, and ensure the safety of Wildman's human-Ktarian baby at birth.
Having lost his confidante when Kes left the ship, the Doctor developed alliances with helmsman/medical assistant Lieutenant Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) and chief engineer Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson), and assumed the role of mentor for ex-Borg drone Seven of Nine (Jeri Lynn Ryan), assisting - no doubt to the consternation of his shipmates - in her development of "social graces". This caused a romantic difficulty for the Doctor, one which doesn't have worked out in the Doctor's favor."
